Privacy policy
Crypto Tax Calculator is a not-for-profit project of Here2Help. This policy covers the app, this website and our email list: what each one collects, why, where it is kept, and how to have it removed.
Who runs it
- Operator
- Crypto Tax Calculator, a not-for-profit project of Here2Help
- Privacy contact
- privacy@cryptocalculator.tax
- Covers
- The iPhone and Android app, cryptocalculator.tax, and our email list
- Last updated

The app
- Collected
- Anonymous usage analytics, plus your device type and OS version.
- Never collected
- Your name, email address, identity, holdings, wallet addresses or financial accounts.
- Stored where
- The amounts you enter and your country preference stay on your device.
- Connected to
- Nothing. There is no wallet or exchange connection, and no account to create.
Every calculation runs on your device, against a rate table that ships inside the app, so your financial inputs are never sent to us. The usage analytics show us which features people use, so we know what to improve; they cannot be used to identify you. Device type and OS version help us keep the app working on the phones people actually have.
This website
This website uses the Google tag (Google Ads) for one purpose: to measure clicks on our ads and the conversions that follow, such as tapping through to the App Store, joining the Android beta or sending the contact form. Ad personalisation is turned off, so the tag is not used for remarketing or to show you targeted ads. To measure a conversion, Google may set cookies and receive technical details such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy.
We also count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies.
Email signups
- Ways to join
- The Android beta form and the contact form on this website, or a lead form in one of our Google Ads.
- What we collect
- Your name, email address and country. The Android beta form asks only for your email. The contact form also carries your message and any jurisdictions you list.
- Why
- To send you new tax-free country guides and updates on the project and the app, and to reply when you write to us.
- Sold or shared
- Never. Your details go only to the services listed below, which store and send them on our behalf.
- How long
- Until you unsubscribe. We take you off the list within 10 business days at most, then delete the rest of your details within 30 days, keeping only a record of the opt-out so you are never emailed again. Contact form messages are deleted 24 months after our last reply.
- Unsubscribe
- Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
- Deletion
- Email privacy@cryptocalculator.tax and we will delete your details, whether or not you are still subscribed.
Our emails record whether they were delivered and opened, and which links were clicked, so we can tell which guides are useful and keep the list free of dead addresses.
Where your data is stored
- Formspree
- Receives the Android beta and contact forms on this website, stores each submission and forwards it to us by email.
- Google Ads
- Holds what you submit through a Google Ads lead form until we move it to our list, and measures ad conversions on this website.
- Mailroom
- Our own mailing tool. It keeps the email list in a Supabase database hosted in Canada and sends each email through Resend.
- Vercel
- Hosts this website and Mailroom, and runs Vercel Web Analytics.
Formspree, Google, Resend and Vercel are based in the United States, so details they handle may be stored or processed outside Canada and be subject to the laws there.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email privacy@cryptocalculator.tax and we will reply within 30 days.
Here2Help follows Canada's privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We only email people who have signed up, and every email says who it is from and how to unsubscribe.
Children
Crypto Tax Calculator is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Other sites
The app and this website link to outside resources such as government tax authority websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date on this page. We will announce significant changes in the app and, if you are on our list, by email.
