How Nigeria taxes crypto
Nigeria has harmonised capital gains tax with the personal income tax rates for individuals, so crypto disposals are taxed on the same progressive scale, reaching roughly 25% at the top band. Crypto received as salary, freelance payment, mining or staking reward is treated as ordinary income under the same rules. Nigeria has also moved to bring virtual asset service providers into the tax net.
The same rate applies however long you held.
